No new fishing

It's getting really warm, it's time for shorts in the tube. I love this part of the float tube season. I just purchased a backup tube, a trout unlimited tube. It looks good, it has a lot of pockets/storage. I'm excited about using it. I think I will probably keep it up at Lake Kiowa.

Ray Bob again......

So, I went back out to Ray Roberts, hoping for a day like my last trip. Unfortunately, it was not like that day.

The winds were really blowing out of the South, around maybe 25+ mph. They were strong and there were white caps all over. It looked like an ocean.

Fished the same cove as last time and only had one hit, didn't catch a thing. Very frustrating. Maybe next time!

Ray Bob

I went fishing today at Ray Roberts on the North end of the lake. It was a great day, light winds and air temperatures in the upper 60's to mid 70's. The water temperature was 60-62 degrees and green and clear to about 2 feet.

I caught a 3 lb. Black Bass along the shoreline in about 2 feet of water on a white YUM worm with silver/blue specks. Good hit too.

I'm pumped to go back out!

Fishing techniques

Some of the techniques I like to use while tube fishing are:

  • wacky
  • drop-shot
  • jerkbaits
  • spinnerbaits
  • crankbaits
A great place to learn how to fish these techniques is this website, Bass Resource.
